π₯ DOUBLE-PAGE CENTERFOLD β "HIGH TIDE AT GETTYSBURG" β DRAMATIC CONFEDERATE CHARGE
A magnificent and very displayable double-page centerfold depicting the "High Tide at Gettysburg" β the dramatic Confederate charge on the third day of the Battle of Gettysburg, July 3, 1863, which reached its climax at "the angle" in the Union center on Cemetery Ridge, the furthest point of Confederate advance in the entire Civil War. The phrase "High Tide of the Confederacy" β coined by Confederate veteran John B. Gordon and popularized by the 1938 book of the same name β captures the moment when Pickett's Charge came within yards of breaking the Union line before being repulsed with catastrophic losses, ending Confederate hopes of victory in the North. General Lewis Armistead, who led his men over the Union stone wall before falling mortally wounded, marked the literal high-water mark of the Confederacy. This dramatic centerfold of the charging Confederate lines β published thirty-three years after the battle, in the era of veterans' reunions and Civil War memory β is a vivid, significant, and very frameable piece of Civil War history and the Battle of Gettysburg. A displayable collector's centerfold.

ποΈ McKINLEY IN HIS LIBRARY
ββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββ
π FULL PAGE β "WILLIAM McKINLEY IN HIS LIBRARY, CANTON, OHIO"
A full-page illustration of William McKinley in his library at his Canton, Ohio home β the domestic setting of his famous "front porch campaign," in which McKinley received delegations of voters at his Canton home while Bryan crisscrossed the country by rail. McKinley's library β with its books, its gentlemanly furnishings, and its air of quiet competence β was a carefully constructed image of presidential dignity and intellectual seriousness, the visual antithesis of Bryan's populist stump campaigning. A significant piece of presidential campaign history and McKinley personal history.

π NEARLY HALF PAGE β "CRATER LAKE AND CONE, CASCADE MOUNTAINS" β WITH TEXT
A nearly half-page illustration and text on Crater Lake β the magnificent deep blue lake in the caldera of the ancient volcano Mount Mazama in the Cascade Mountains of Oregon, one of the most spectacular natural wonders in North America. In 1896 Crater Lake was not yet a national park β it would be designated Crater Lake National Park in 1902 β and Harper's Weekly's illustrated documentation of it is a primary document of the growing public awareness and appreciation that would lead to its protection. At 1,943 feet deep, Crater Lake is the deepest lake in the United States. A significant piece of Oregon natural history and the early American conservation movement.
